Honestly Timber’s come on in leaps and bounds going forward and I’d say he’s starting to really rival Dumfries.

He’s always had the edge defensively but his attacking play this season has been extraordinary.
He is, however, very good going forward. But I’ve seen people say “best right back in the world” and for me he’s not even close. Loses around 65% of his ground duels and almost 90% of his aerials. Dumfries is almost as good going forward and not a total liability defensively.

Said both of these myself. Said Frimpong was a winger/wingback not a fullback, and I always thought that giving both Salah and Van Dijk new deals was risky and that Trent was the one they should’ve (and maybe did, to be fair to them, he may just have said no) prioritised.
@arsenalvisionpodcast.com and @clivepafc.bsky.social I was listening to an Athletic podcast and Michael Cox said no one said, at the time, giving Salah a new contract was a bad idea and that the signing of Frimpong would destabilize Liverpool's defense. Apparently he isn't a listener.

Another reason it’s huge is if we finish top 2 we avoid the other top 2 finisher (likely Bayern) until a possible final. In fact if we finish top 2, our opponents will be one of the teams 15th or below for R16, and then a team 7th or below for the quarters. We avoid a top 4 team until the semis.
One win away. And it could be such a huge advantage in the second half of the season, because that’s our easier run of form domestically so having the European seeding could be massive.

Heard we may get Kai back in January, if we can get Saliba back soon that’d be a huge boost. Looking good.
I think there’s too much willingness to bin off tonight’s match. I’m all for a bit of rotation (we have to) and there’s a few who need to play to build fitness for Wolves and the cup tie, but people are forgetting; win tonight, beat Kairat, that’s 21. Guaranteed top 2 seeding for the later rounds.

Premier League titles won:

Mo Salah: 2
Carragher: 0

Mo Salah has been responsible for 10% of Liverpool’s league titles.
I reckon Mo Salah should tell Liverpool he will apologise but only if Jamie Carragher is banned from Anfield. Or a video played on loop of Thierry turning him inside out should there and on their socials, and some more montages of him embarrassing himself.

Some people really won’t let up in a discussion unless and until you say they’re right. It’s often best in such cases to just block and move on with your day. Some of us have things to do with our time.
December 11, 2025 at 12:43 PM
I think they’re just speaking up for plucky Man City who haven’t spent lots of money (if you believe that, just bc of the reported transfer fees, I’ve got a bridge to sell you).
Instead of just constantly parroting "They spent a load of money so they have no excuses", maybe it would be a little less disingenuous to say "Well, they've spent over £150m less than the Mugsmashers & they've been shit. Yes, they've invested, but they've invested thoughtfully in real quality."? 🤷‍♂️

Gonna spend this afternoon watching In Bruges instead of being productive.

Hope you’re all happy with yourselves.
December 10, 2025 at 2:12 PM
I’m really happy for him. I think we made the right decision for both parties but I’m glad to see him back playing and hopefully he does brilliantly there and gets an extended deal in the summer. He’s a good guy and an excellent player who unfortunately just kept getting injured. Not his fault.
🚨🔴⚪️ Ajax are closing in on deal to sign former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu as free agent. Short term contract until June, as @GBabaSport reports — could be offered a longer deal in summer 2026 based on this season performances. Agreement at final stages.

The good news about the Dowman injury is that it suggests that maybe Kai is less than 60 days away? And maybe the defenders too? Because otherwise Jesus could’ve been brought in earlier, he’s been back in training for a little bit now.

This is kinda gross. Even as a joke (it’s clearly a staged bit).

No. Just no. Some topics you don’t joke about.
You will NEVER see this one coming.
I can’t emphasize enough how much you need to watch this until the end

Slavia Prague really are a disgusting club. First the racism, now homophobia. Fuck them.

Is there anything more validating than when you make a stats-based observation and then Orbinho posts about the same thing after you?

Arsenal and Man City have played five of the same fixtures so far. Arsenal are six points up on head to head.

Aston Villa A 0v0
Fulham A 3v3
Leeds H 3v3
Newcastle A 3v0
Tottenham H 3v0

We’ve had 22 games this season and 6 different centre back pairings. Imagine changing your centre back pairing every THREE AND A HALF GAMES.

I’ve been incredibly critical of Sky’s narrative-led analysis of Arsenal this season, but this piece was insightful and really well balanced. It doesn’t blame everything on luck while also acknowledging the part it plays and how cluster injuries really fuck you:

Proof of Gabriel’s talismanic nature.

Got into a discussion with someone the other day over whether Gabriel was the talisman for this team in the way VVD had been for peak Liverpool.

This proves he absolutely is.
December 9, 2025 at 9:07 AM
Yep, last season had absolutely nothing to do with injuries and we were just making excuses.

And again this season we’re doing the same.
December 9, 2025 at 8:55 AM
One thing I think people need to remember is when we looked at the fixture list we all (and the club would’ve done this internally too) noted how “front loaded” it was. Combined with the injuries I think they would’ve been happy being only two points *behind* City in December let alone ahead by 2.

Used to be an avid watcher of professional poker. Bloom always stood out as a knob in a “sport” which is *filled* with them. Never liked him.
The "allegations" concerning Bloom are common knowledge within the football and gambling worlds and have been for years. Pathetic, profoundly misjudged reaction from BHAFC, who should ready themselves for this to blow in their faces.

You fucking bet I am.
This is really great from Matthew, and initiatives like this deserve support from those who can do so.

I would much rather see this reaction at Christmas than at Easter. It’s early enough in the season to use this anger and disappointment for good. Now channel it into the rest of our games.
The Arsenal players’ reactions as their 17 game unbeaten streak came to an end at Villa Park with the very last kick of the game.

Heartbreaking. 💔

Had someone say City were improving. Pointed out the Fulham and Leeds games are proof that they’re not.

And it reminded me of this post from Adam SIX MONTHS AGO. Tell me either of those games doesn’t validate this observation made back then? So in what sense are they improving?
lukewarm take - the two clubs we've been jostling with are gonna score a ton of pretty goals with all the new attacking talent coming in (Reijnders, Cherki, Wirtz, Frimpong, Kerkez) but they're also gonna give up some really stupid goals
