In 2015, I burnt myself out and had a mental breakdown. Since my recovery (before that, tbh), I've been trying to get my writing career back on track.

It hasn't happened.

I've suffered losses and gone through a divorce, and I'm emotionally fragile. But that isn't why I've made the decision to quit

THIS.
I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

He asked for permission and was granted it.

The baby was not breathing.

This family was attacked anyway.

ICE are rabid animals and need dealing with as such.
That is what was relayed

This is a very important video to watch. Thank you Ashley the Barroness. One comment from IG was America isn’t becoming Germany. America is becoming America. That really hit home for me. Watch this! Be uncomfortable.

I so miss this man. 💔
Many handsome and touching tributes to the sorely-missed Alan Rickman, who died ten years ago today. www.theguardian.com/film/2026/ja...

@realtoddstashwick.bsky.social I've just come across www.teawithtolkien.com, which has some deep dives into his work. There is a religious slant to them but it's slight. I downloaded their "30 Days in the Shire" and it's full of lovely, slow ideas. Very Hobbitcore, heh.

Raise. Your. Voice!!!
One of the shitty things about the racist and anti-lgbtq extremist direction of this administration (and all those like them) is people and corporations quit celebrating, or even supporting, marginalized people to avoid 'trouble.'

Fuck trouble. Fuck bigots.

Raise your voice.

I think FF romance isn't as popular because of misogyny, and because of *internalised* misogyny. Women having sexual appetites, women focusing on women's pleasure, women being sexually aggressive, having swagger and sexual confidence - that's still villain-coded, friends.

I have just filled in and submitted a pre-op form for my gallbladder removal. Hopefully, that means it's soon.

@realtoddstashwick.bsky.social Back to art group today and we're making dioramas for our clay creations. Still in progress, but here's my dragon on a beach.

Would you give her a name, please? 🥹

One step closer to Soylent Green. Though they'd probably call it something else as "green" is clearly too woke.
I thought this was a joke but it’s an actual post from the White House: “we are ending the war on protein”

How about ending the war on the health of this country?

I just found out last night that the $50k enrollment bonus only pays out after 5 years of service, and reader, the laugh I let out when I read that woke the dog from across the house. These absolute fucking grapes aren't seeing a dime of that money. No way they can ride out 5 years of this job.
ICE recruitment is going well.

The concept that in an encounter with law enforcement (ICE, police, etc) one must magically know the right thing to say or do to keep that person from flying into a murderous rage is something only abuse victims understand. Compliance can easily be twisted into non-compliance to justify violence.
