I remember seeing a thing in some science magazine years ago where someone tried to find the “most beautiful” face by averaging out photos of 100 famous beautiful people. What they got was… an incredibly average face. All the quirks that made individuals uniquely beautiful were gone.

Once saw someone ask how hard it would be to make DS into a Supers game. My reaction was to change some of the flavor text and change some kits to modern stuff. It's already a Fantasy Avengers game. And teamwork is how the Avengers beat the baddies. It's why they're a team!
In tactical RPGs we often see the "how do I optimize MY hero" discussion, which certainly happens with Draw Steel, but I have also seen a lot of people say stuff like, "If you really wanna optimize in DS, you should focus on the party not the individual." That was by design, and I'm glad it works.
