While cleaning up I came across a large set of TIFF files. Zooming turned out to be worthwhile. Had to look up where it is. Here we go: a small part of the amazing Haast River, West Coast Region, New Zealand.

New blog post: Decoding ESCAPADE. Here I decode a recording of the ESCAPADE spacecraft that I did with an Allen Telescope Array antenna the day after they were launched. The modulation is PCM/PSK/PM with rate=1/2 Turbo code. The telemetry uses CCSDS TM frames and Space Packets.

Just realized Google has entrenched mansplaining at the top of their search engine results as the AI summary...got all the hallmarks... annoying, too long, often what you knew anyway or didn't ask for, frequently wrong but confident...now everyone gets the joy of being mansplained-to. Lol!

Adani's promise of "10,000 jobs. $22b in royalties & taxes." Carmichael mine employs 84 workers with a service provider bringing the total to 1200. Royalties paid 2024 were $83.5m & $78.6m in 2025. While revenue was $1.27b it has an operating loss. #auspol www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Adani promised Australia billions from its Carmichael mine but it hasn’t paid a cent in tax. How did we get here?
The coalmine generated millions in revenue in its early days but recorded an operating loss – a pattern that would repeat at scale

GFDL, NSSL, GML, etc.

This appears to also end the US greenhouse gas sampling network, including at Mauna Loa, the oldest continuous carbon dioxide monitoring site on Earth.
