we have now released 4 of the 50 1-minute adventure game reviews. I'll keep a running list heresies.
not to overload y'all but I just launched a project on Nebula where I do 1-minute reviews of adventure games every week for a year in order to make a 50-game tier list, using a very complex and extremely accurate rating system I came up with myself

Okay, I'll make a thread of 50 indie games which I'll add to over the week, staring with.

1. Carimara

Play as a little goblin creature summoned by a witch to investigate what's haunting her cottage, it's a creepy bite-size mystery akin to the Frog Detective games, and has gorgeous visuals.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

Bet. First, I'm gonna cheat and get four games from Enigma Studio because I really want to get around to talking about them and i haven't yet. First, play The Enigma Machine. It's a short (~1-2 hour) horror game about managing an AI's dreams.

TFW when a student made a technical error in their Harmony scene that messed it up, BUT you were able to isolate the issue and fix it quickly with a simple tweak and show them the steps on how to do it. Christmas is saved! -or at least, finals. ⭐

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Drew a lot as a kid, went to CEGEP for Visual Art and dabbled in a variety of types of art. Met a friend who was in Animation at Algonquin College, and I followed the next year.

Got a job at Mercury Filmworks during a hiring scoop my last semester in 2005, and have been doing it since.

The low-angel Frieren meme is genuinely inspiring. Someone braver than the troops shares a picture they know turned out weird. Thousands start sharing their own art, offering advice and laughing together at something that is genuinely hard.

No ai to be seen --- just people supporting each other.

It is discouraging to see the large ratio of my students who never read the feedback I attached to the grades on their assignments, given the time I put into it. :/

To be clear, not a suspicion on my part- the software shows teachers the "Read" tag if students click on the feedback link.

I am enjoying the new game Ball x Pit. Gives me Vampire Survivors vibes with all the character unlocks, weapon evolutions, and “just one more turn”. The pinballing block breaking gameplay used in town builder AND primary battle gameplay is fun.
