The court was asked to rule on what the govt meant by “sex” in the Equalities Act, and concluded it meant biological sex. Trans people are still protected under the act. So are single-sex spaces where it matters. That’s it. Calm down everyone.

The single issue before the court were the definitions of man and woman under the Equality Act: did they refer to biological sex, or did they relate to gender identity. This is the only issue the court ruled on. /1
