Hey folks, It’s time we start putting some serious thought behind the kind of nation we want to live in once Trumpism has been defeated.

It’s also time that we give up on the naive expectation that our elected leaders are going to take care of this problem for us.
What the country REALLY needs is one BIG BEAUTIFUL ANTIFASCIST PLATFORM to unite us all against TRUMPISM!

Wow, shades of the 2019 Border Patrol Facebook scandal of Trump’s first term, when dozens of agents were part of a group posting mocking memes about migrants kids who died crossing the border.

This particular officer went viral in the Chicago raids for pulling his gun on people.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

As I said to @jamellebouie.net the other day, we should be suspicious of claims in 2025, made in just a matter of weeks after the president declared something to be true by fiat, that "discovered" new meanings that are not consistent with hundreds of years of a consistently articulated tradition.

Birthright citizenship under the common law, a thread:

I have done this many times on social media, in print, and in media interviews, but not to be accused of taking others’ not seriously enough, by plainly stating the law and history of birthright citizenship, I’m taking the time here:

Pretty much a complete inversion of the rules applied in civil law societies, like most of Europe—where the identity of a person arrested or charged is to be scrupulously guarded, but he identity of police and their images are deemed public information.
I'm searching Getty Images and found some photos credited to the Boston Herald that redact the faces of ICE/federal agents. They don't redact the face of the guy they're arresting.

I'm curious about the ethics of doing this. I don't think I've ever seen this on Getty before.

I know multiple women who genuinely, truly believe that their children are more likely to die from a HPV vaccination side effect than they are from the cancers that HPV causes. I have no idea how you even begin to undo that level of mass psychosis in society.
I will never forgive RFK Jr. for what he’s done… never.

The layers of hell he has unleashed in many different areas — not just healthcare — over the past two decades have caused so much damage, it’s overwhelming.

He is one of the greatest villains of the 21st century.

One under-appreciated part of this: note the bit below about “and their dependents.”

Under the Trump admin’s new policy, dependent children of visa applicants are not allowed to have their social media set to private during the entire visa process. They MUST make their social media public.
