The decision has been made to break an American city. It is an experiment. We must do all we can (legally) to help Minneapolis hold on.
if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Even if the FBI refuses to work together, the MN state authorities should be able to conduct their own criminal investigation. They can interview witnesses, gather video, and subpoena records such as an autopsy report. They can’t be “shut out” completely.

The same points made by Obama in 2002 apply with equal force to today’s events and some young Democratic politician should follow in his footsteps and make these points now.

Vance comes down against “purity tests”—i.e., against criticizing the neo-Nazis. He’s happy to have them as part of his coalition.
JD Vance: "When I say that I'm going to fight alongside of you, I mean all of you — each and every one. President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeating purity tests."

The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!

trump will pardon or assist any head of state who has been convicted for crimes. acting out of self preservation, basically
WHOA. Trump says he will pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once said that he wanted to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” He had people killed as part of his narco-trafficking ring, which he at times operated directly out of his presidential office.
