Eight years ago, when I started playing the Yakuza games, I never could've imagined that I'd become a JE translator, let alone translate on a Yakuza/Like a Dragon game, but yeah, this is somehow real!!! I was a translator on Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii!!!

The funny thing is that if this was an actual Japanese anime, it'd be "Ikuzo, Gei (げい)!" since that's how the character for Yi (羿) is pronounced in Japanese. And yes, "Gei" is pronounced exactly how you think it is

One reflection talking to other Jews today is how unshocking this is.

Numbing, upsetting, scary but not shocking. We all knew it was coming. Given the enormous rise in antisemitic incidents in recent years, it's a surprise it hasn't happened more often.
