The fact the New York Times is on a crusade to prevent a Muslim nominee for New York City’s mayor from getting elected while the most powerful people in the country openly talk about ethnic cleansing and dismantling democracy is why I will never stop despising that garbage fire of a newspaper.
Nothing makes you realize how dumb the super rich in Silicon Valley are as much as their love of Curtis Yarvin. This is a guy whose big idea is that diversity is ruining America so much that we should dismantle democracy and our universities then install a dictator to make America white again.

Battery storage just hit a watershed moment: $51/kWh in China, down 30% in 12 months. While fossil fuels get slower & pricier, batteries are getting cheaper and better. This isn’t a trend—it’s now a rupture. Solar + storage is now the default for new energy. Everywhere. ⚡📉 #BESS #EnergyTransition
“Watershed moment:” Big battery storage prices hit record low in huge China auction
Huge China auction delivers another stunning fall in battery storage prices. It is being hailed as a potential tipping point for “round the clock” renewables.

This comparsion in the NYTimes today is pretty stark. China is racing ahead to be a high-tech exporter of 21st century technologies, while the US is doubling down on being a petro-state exporting the technologies of the 19th century: www.nytimes.com/inte...

I would just like one (1) high-profile political journalist to publicly acknowledge the painfully obvious fact that the two parties are covered differently, held to different standards, and to wrestle with why that is & its practical effects on US politics.

(Difficulty: impossible.)

In order to keep global warming below 1.5C or 2C, we need to move industrial activity to clean energy. This will MORE THAN DOUBLE our global need for electricity.

We are going to need a LOT more wind, solar, geothermal, and other clean electricity than most people are expecting.

@mcbride.house.gov really lovely interview on Ezra, thank you! Feeling inspired and hopeful in a way I’ve not in a long time. Hope others take your message to heart. Thank you for fighting for real change, even if slow and imperfect.

The country’s ruler celebrated their birthday with a military parade while simultaneously protests against their authoritarian rule occurred in every state is the sort of news story Americans used to write about “failing third world democracies.”

Protests in all 50 states coincided with a military parade featuring more than 6,000 soldiers.

No uniting speech.

No attempt to explain to a broad range of thoughtful Americans why these drastic and terrifying actions are necessary for us all.

No appealing to the best parts of all of us.

In short, no *leadership*. America is entering a historic crisis with no leader, no leadership at all.

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.
