They sent me a paper prescription instead of using their in-house pharmacy so that's something new to fix, because nothing in England ever just works

Dealing with Colin-rat's insurance is 'fun' in a beaurocratic silliness way.

"Would you like to cancel the policy?"
"I mean, he's dead and so is his brother, so the policy is not insuring anything"
"We're sorry you've chosen to leave us"

tell us again about the benefit sanctions you were happy to support in return for the 5p plastic bag tax that were so bad they turned out to be illegal
There is an extraordinary sense of entitlement behind the belief that there ought to be political party that aligns 100% with your own opinions.

on my module, they are explicitly told any use of AI will be considered cheating and... yeah.
I am allowed to fail students for AI use, and I do, and I say I will, repeatedly and emphatically. As a result, I wind up having to fail very few students for AI use.
I read the thread and know why they're not failing the students. They gotta let colleges fail the students for the sake of the curriculum and other students

They frame it as asylum seekers living high on the hog, but you click through and it turns out the people in question got arbitrarily moved to the other side of the country and the home office didn’t update their GP so they had to drive back. Layers & layers of cruelty and incompetence

Weee the plastic surgeon has agreed to remove the neck lump. I was a bit worried they'd refuse (despite a dermatologist and pathologist saying there's a clinical need to go back in and remove the rest)

It's difficult enough /when you aren't/ an asylum seeker. Can't imagine what it's like for them.

I was also just telling hutch that this is a roundabout way of denying healthcare. Referred for hospital care? HO moves you. Need to be referred again. HO moves you again.
Most people in the UK really have no idea how extremely difficult it is to navigate the bureaucratic maze that is our healthcare system when you're an asylum seeker. It's a form of slow institutional violence where we effectively withhold healthcare and blame it on asylum seekers' "incompetence".
For asylum seekers with limited English and/or limited prior access to medical care, the process of changing GP is extremely challenging.

Besides which, you might have highly complex healthcare needs, likely including trauma, and so recounting your health issues to new doctors may be triggering.
