My Hall of Fame ballot for this year. I try to write an explainer each year. This year I talked about how I learned to love a bigger Hall.

My first Hall of Fame ballot was a thrill and an honor. But it was harder than I thought.

Will post my first full set of 2026 Baseball Hall of Fame projections in the new year. But as a sneak peak, my model has Carlos Beltrán elected in 82% of simulations based on 100 ballots in @notmrtibbs.com’s Tracker. Andruw Jones elected 57% of the time.

I MAILED MY BALLOT TODAY! TODAY!!! @baseballhall.org
I know this is meant to break democracy

but I think it's going to affect some Hall of Fame votes too
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

Splashed a few drops of beer on my Hall of Fame ballot while finally filling it out. A little too on-brand, maybe.

First time getting to vote for the Hall of Fame. It’s an honor and I spent a lot of time with the ballot.

BBHOF 2026. Spent a lot of time this year on pitching. A lot of really interesting cases on the ballot at the moment. As always, it’s an honor, and shoutout to @notmrtibbs.com and his merry crew.

Ballot #79 from a first-time voter. Congratulations Ben and thanks for sharing it!
A privilege to vote for the Hall of Fame. Here’s my ballot.

(And btw! Not trying to persuade anyone they should agree with me. This is just where I landed after lots of thought & discussion)

Today was an exciting day. I mailed my Hall of Fame vote to Cooperstown. I'm a first time voter but a long time beat writer (24 years). This is an honor I'm not taking lightly.

Great question! In my case, I had six holdovers and seven others I seriously considered. Utley and Hernandez were a cut above the others. The rest were bunched too closely and too borderline. So I passed. Reconsidering candidates is part of voting, IMO. I added Abreu and Pettitte last year.
