The only consistent, guiding principle with conservatism is that rich white men get to control everybody else. Any other principle conservatives claim to espouse is easily discarded when it doesn't suit their one true aim.

It'd go a long way to avoid press blunders if CEOs would stop conflating automated and procedural tools (which have been used for years in game dev) with genAI.
Using the former to justify the latter is not a defensible position. Devs who benefit from such tools aren't "generally ok" with AI.

I don't know why the idea of developing concept art with AI is somehow meant to convince us that AI isn't replacing creative professions, when concept art is one of the single most creative and imaginative parts of the entire development process.

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.
