I made a book, a very tiny book.
On vintage paper with watercolour illustrations and a nonsense verse.
If anyone wants to publish it for me I would be overjoyed. This is just a rough to see how it works out

I spent months on this investigation and gathered docs from the UK courts, Land Registry and a French local authority, to show that Raynor and Moth Winn's story is not as they claim. @tortoisemedia.bsky.social @observeruk.bsky.social

Ha, the authors of that Salt Path book are now discredited, I can’t see them coming back from this. Now to take a long sip of coffee and check out how other proven fabulists are getting on

Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with their story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. The Salt Path became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film.

But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth.

Interesting thread on the revelations about The Salt Path.

Given that it took a journalist several months and lots of very hard work to expose the truth behind The Salt Path, I actually think it's fairly reasonable for Penguin to have assumed the book was largely true and not to delve too deeply into the accuracy of the origin story.

Agree. Fascinating backstory to the book and the film. The Salt Path becomes the Porkie [Pies] Path!

The one-star reviews for The Salt Path are quite the read
PS: Very impressed by some of these one-star reviews on Amazon in which, five years ago, the reviewers call the book out as somewhat fabricated.

The genius move for the Salt Path movie would be for Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs to also star in a dramatisation of the *real* Salt Path story. Proper Hearts of Darkness / Apocalypse Now stuff.

Only 30% of pall care is NHS funded.

Given today's vote, will Keir Starmer at least commit to dramatically increasing palliative care provision so that patients don't "choose" to end their lives because we, society, fail to give them the care that might make life worth living?

I hate to tell you this, but we are already well on the way to this.

Our local surgeries in our part of Hampshire are all owned by American Companies.

It is exceedingly difficult to get an appointment, and in most cases it is better to spend a day at A and E.

The surgeries are now profit centers

Yes. Taking a good patient history is not just asking a list of questions. It requires a depth of knowledge and experience to get to the root of the patient's problem that a 2yr post grad course will not give you.

This BBC piece is a very one-sided account of the issues in the use of PAs in the NHS www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It skims over the avoidable death of 30-year old Emily Chesterton, who died tragically after seeing the same Physician Associate twice.
