This is governing with the assumption that you will never lose power. This whole administration has been setup to never lose power.
I am sad that as a nation we’ve lost the value of persuasion. If you want something, you need to persuade others. Convince them. Have the best idea.

KERNEN: I could see a Democratic president declaring a climate emergency to tax countries with high CO2 emissions. Does that concern you at all what Democrats might do with this type of tariff power?

The best thing anyone can do — and this is why the Ontario Reagan ad was so useful — is illustrate to people who chiefly vote for Republicans that the Republican Party no longer shares their values, values that were held by Republicans for a very long time!
