This is BAD. Many countries assisted with building the containment over reactor 4. Because Chernobyl is an existential threat. Canada donated over 66 million dollars. Building this was an example of extreme engineering. That a drone could do this to any nuclear facility has been a concern.

My classroom this morning at one minute after start time.

I wondered if I should just start teaching my own self…. 😂

Then students started trickling their weary selves in … 🥹
A large rectangular long university classroom with ten sets of four desks and chairs and white boards on one wall. It is totally empty. Not one student.

If they are out alone in the cold and can't make it home, they will just hunker down wherever until the sun warms them up enough to be able to fly. That's probably what happened here. It looks a little stiff and just getting going. I'm glad it was able to fly & still live a bit more.

i'm not the best at Bumble identification, but I think so?
They're beautiful. It's late in the season for them to be out & about & alive. The newly mated queens are finding their hibernation holes. The rest are dying. Bumbles are well adapted to cold temps. They can live at the Arctic Circle! ⬇️

Like the Tories, the Labour government is trying to drive down the number of people who qualify for disability benefits by insisting there has been an epidemic of “overdiagnosis”: a favourite theme of the BBC and the junktanks of Tufton Street. Never mind the science: what outcome do we want?

"The single most important behaviour, design or regulation for creating streets conducive to walking and cycling, was physical separation between the modes"

We've got a new study out, learning from a broad mixture of street users, planners and designers

www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Highlights
For marginalised street users mode separation is the key to human-scale movement.
Streets conducive to walking and cycling have functional, safe and accessible design.
Professionals must approach street design, regulation and user behaviour holistically.
Combinations of influencing factors persuade people to either use or avoid a street.
There are no easy fixes to the public realm that will work for all non-drivers.

NEW: As Linda McMahon guts the Dept. of Education, she’s operated in what she calls “a parallel universe” to radically shift how future kids will learn -- seeking to dismantle the public school system in favor of private and Christian schools or homeschooling.

I saw a post get ratioed earlier because it assumes that fascism only exists once state power is completely consolidated and I imagine a lot of people are dunking on it but I just want to share two recent resources:

How to Fight Fascism in a Captured State
A union exists whenever a group of people work together to solve a problem they couldn’t alone, says Shane Burley.
