"Last Christmas" may take on a whole new meaning for Trump. Will he be around next Christmas? If so, can you imagine how much he will have deteriorated by that time?

It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

Why did it take this fucking long to bring a suit ?!?
This is EXACTLY what's wrong with the U.S. By the time Americans bother to do something, it's far, far too late.
So, the rest of the world simply watches the U.S. fall apart.

Since it's the 25th anniversary of the corrupt SCOTUS decision that guaranteed we'd never know who really won the 2000 election, I thought I'd mention for those of you who may have been too young or just not paying attention to politics then that HBO has an excellent movie called "Recount" about it.

The US is in such imbalance economically that when the relatively few richest people spend, for example, for Christmas presents, it totally hides the fact that normal people aren't spending or can't spend. So, the statistics look fine, and politicians and WSJ can say the economy is perfectly OK!

Won't matter. SCOTUS has emasculated all lower courts.

The Supreme Court is Trump's firewall, and nothing else matters. They don't even have to write opinions anymore when they restructure the government. By the time they get around to doing that (theoretically), the changes are long implemented.

The current (and only) GOP plan is throw everyone off health insurance while allowing private equity to buy up the care system - how is this worse? Where is the criticism that the party in power doesn’t have a solution that doesn’t cause millions of Americans to go broke or go without?
I hope the Dems realize that if they extend the ACA subsidies, and take no other steps, they are giving carte blanche to the biggest insurance companies and major hospital systems to find new ways to game the system and increase costs.

Damn shame that the Democrats just blew their best chance for a Senate seat in Texas. This is a primary where both candidates will end up smeared. Dems will do Reps' job for them. We all know it will be about black woman / white man - the identity politics which Texans HATE. Whoever wins will lose.
