From 70k you get 10k in 19 days, the next 10k in 10 days. Plot the numbers over time and you have accelerating membership. Graph would be prettier with the 75k data point.
At least for now.

Electricity pricing in the UK (as across all of Europe) is complex.

Renewables reduce the cost of electricity, the more renewables we have, the more prices will reduce.

The more we electrify, the more we reduce emissions.

But have they actually LOWERED the price of electricity we pay TODAY?

TLDR; yes, by around a quarter, or £25/MWh

That's why it's a mistake to stop investment in them (*cough* certain politicians).

The Primary Energy Fallacy is the idea that all primary energy from fossil fuels must be replaced with equivalent amount of clean energy.

BUT: Not necessary because >2/3 of all primary energy is lost as waste heat.

Electrification+renewables are far more efficient.

We are in the foothills of a solar-wind-battery civilisation. This is our best chance of avoiding catastrophe. But it threatens the profits of fossil fuel companies & nations - so these are pouring money into right-wing populism to stop the transition. This seems to me the biggest story in politics.

Complete fan of going as fast as possible on renewable energy and exiting fossil fuels as fast as possible.

The 2 charts suggest that getting fossil below a certain % threshold is the key to cost reduction impact.

Otherwise you would have Netherlands with biggest cost reduction ?

It’s quite normal for legacy (fossil fuel) industries to delay superior solutions.

The more we realise who their servants are, the better armed we are to choose what will inevitably be cleaner and cheaper.

Especially if we can do it in time for our economy to compete in this new world.
