Agree. Curiously you have a better graph option.
From 70k you get 10k in 19 days, the next 10k in 10 days. Plot the numbers over time and you have accelerating membership. Graph would be prettier with the 75k data point.
At least for now.
Great result. Do maths better.

Which parties in the UK are warming up with similar authoritarian lies, what evidence are we being asked to reject ?

Renewables bad - fossil fuels good !

Human rights bad (ECHR) - less rights good !

good for who ?

EU countries prove more renewables make electricity cheaper.
markgongloff.bsky.social
"Spain’s rapid renewables build-out means its power prices were set by fossil generation just 19% of the time, down from 75% in 2019. As a result, wholesale electricity was almost a third cheaper than the EU average"

Imagine having cheaper power

Spain’s Renewable-Energy Boom Loosens Gas’s Grip on Power Prices
Soaring renewables output in Spain is weakening gas’s grip on electricity prices, setting the country apart from much of Europe where fossil fuels still dictate the cost of power.

Electricity pricing in the UK (as across all of Europe) is complex.

Renewables reduce the cost of electricity, the more renewables we have, the more prices will reduce.

The more we electrify, the more we reduce emissions.
jessralston.bsky.social
Lots of talk about the "cost of renewables"

But have they actually LOWERED the price of electricity we pay TODAY?

TLDR; yes, by around a quarter, or £25/MWh

That's why it's a mistake to stop investment in them (*cough* certain politicians).

A key piece of understanding about the the energy we need vs the waste energy and pollution that fossil fuels create.
janrosenow.bsky.social
The Primary Energy Fallacy is the idea that all primary energy from fossil fuels must be replaced with equivalent amount of clean energy.

BUT: Not necessary because >2/3 of all primary energy is lost as waste heat.

Electrification+renewables are far more efficient.

We are in the foothills of a solar-wind-battery civilisation. This is our best chance of avoiding catastrophe. But it threatens the profits of fossil fuel companies & nations - so these are pouring money into right-wing populism to stop the transition. This seems to me the biggest story in politics.

Complete fan of going as fast as possible on renewable energy and exiting fossil fuels as fast as possible.

The 2 charts suggest that getting fossil below a certain % threshold is the key to cost reduction impact.

Otherwise you would have Netherlands with biggest cost reduction ?

Similar to how they fixed the NHS and the economy with brexit.

It is, be in no question, time to undo Brexit.

It’s quite normal for legacy (fossil fuel) industries to delay superior solutions.

The more we realise who their servants are, the better armed we are to choose what will inevitably be cleaner and cheaper.

Especially if we can do it in time for our economy to compete in this new world.

Great podcast, straightforward facts dispelling common misconceptions propagated by mainstream media.

Plus clear steps to improve the reality for everyone about the immigration our country needs.

Was good to have a serious conversation about the rise of fascism & the Brexit dynamics that have twisted our immigration system, as well as cowardice from our media & our leaders on migration.

It’s out! I spoke to @zoejardiniere.bsky.social about migration, the realities, the challenges and how to confront the real threat of far right takeover of our country on a platform of fear and disinformation.

“Our women, our daughters are scared to walk the streets,” claimed Tommy Robinson at the 'Unite the Kingdom' rally.

Suddenly, the radical right seems concerned about women’s safety - but this isn’t genuine care. They’re recycling an old, racist trope.

OK, suspect my willingness to follow opposing views is less than yours, appreciate your dedication and approach.

I'd never heard them before and kinda liked the ignorance. I do wonder about whether responding generates non-desirable awareness.

One suspended for threatening to kill his wife & being arrested❌
Another for assault at a Pride event❌

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.
