I spent 15 years covering events like this... in foreign countries. Hard to believe (and yet I predicted it long ago) that it would come to this in my own. I could no longer sit by and be a journalist, or an analyst. I had to rise up and become an activist. www.thecasualanalyst.com/blog-1/categ...

ICE agents in Chicago are making fake phone calls to police, making up security threats in the hope that local police will remove protesters.

Filing a false report is a serious crime. Just because they're Federal agents does NOT make them above the law. Arrest them www.facebook.com/share/v/1CxK...

Let me talk about something non-political for a second.

I never got around to actually watching all the Sopranos. The product placement in this show is CRAZY. Such a good show, with entire scenes dedicated to advertising. Ham handed, too

People keep asking "how can we stop Trump?" Pay attention to the people who are actually stopping Trump.

ICE facilities in Massachusetts are under intense pressure from protesters, lawyers, and now local officials. Time for state officials to shut these buildings down. No buildings, no ICE raids

Texas once feared a phantom federal occupation. Now Gov. Abbott’s troops are helping carry it out under Trump. And Houston may be next, writes the Houston Chronicle editorial board. bit.ly/48Q3D5C

This is *wild.*

A reporter notes local police contradict White House’s claims used to justify deploying troops to a U.S. city, and the press secretary blames partisanship and says she’ll bring a group of independent journalists to the WH to offer a different account?

We’re talking about a…city!

COLLINS: The police chief of Portland says the president's claims don't match up with what's happening on the ground

LEAVITT: You're probably talking to partisan Democrat officials who are opposed to everything this president does

Poor people in our society can't afford to make good financial decisions. Lack of social safety nets mean they pay for childcare. Working 2 jobs means they eat fast food or prepared food. No money for a new car means old cars that always need repair.

Poor Americans can't buy "good boots"

Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."

Subtle digs like this are crucial for adding context. Too many journalists are simply stenographers, bending over backwards to avoid saying the obvious out of fear of the fact that the truth is indeed partisan

I love it when journalists subtly indicate that Trump is, in fact, a toddler. www.jta.org/2025/10/06/i...
Excerpt reading: "Trump also shared multiple pictures from the weekly Saturday night Tel Aviv demonstration calling for the hostages’ release, which also functions largely as an anti-Netanyahu protest. Trump, who has a longstanding interest in crowd sizes, did not comment on the pictures, but he cited the large numbers of people in the streets in Israel as evidence that Israelis want the war to end during his joint appearance with Netanyahu."

The passage "Trump, who has a longstanding interest in crowd sizes," is highlighted.

Things feel like they’re spiraling fast across the city.

Republicans are cowards. Cowardice lies at the heart of all of their policies and motivations. They are exclusively motivated by fear. They've destroyed the entire country because they're afraid of everything.
