Education for education’s sake — learning about something because you want to learn about it — is not only an unalloyed good thing, it’s a fundamental part of what makes humans human. Arguing against it is inhuman. And Tim’s very correct about not telling adults what to do with their time and money.

Chris is not a fan of it when raw because of the taste. Like you, the best he can say is that it's "bitter but not *bitter* bitter". It'll be a gene that some people have and others don't – like being able to taste TCP and sprouts!

Ah, are you not a fan? I like it because when it's cooked it retains some crunch and my mouth-texture-autism thing is against sloppy/slimy, so it can make sloppy/slimy ingredients less noticeable.

My mum swears by Stérimar, which is literally just purified sea water that you spray up your nose. Says it helps instantly. She’s had sinusitis outbreaks for decades and it goes away almost immediately on use. No personal experience of it, but she is an evangelist for it. Boots usually have it.

Trust the science is my watchword usually, but what if you don’t trust the scientists? (The prescribers, rather than the ones who invented it).

If the meds work, it’ll be brilliant for me. And the US leaflet not having the UK warning weighs in favour.

But it still feels like Russian roulette.

With no confidence in the ditzy nurse who came up with the suggestion, minus-level confidence in the ignorant and rude doctor that signed the prescription, and no support whatsoever from my husband, this is all on me to decide. And I’m scared.
