When this blows over I might have to share some of the emails I’ve received over the days which really make me wonder why I am the one accused of hatred. There is deep unresolved trauma being spewed by some of these people and we cannot consent to living according to their warped reality.

America isn’t drifting toward authoritarianism. It is living it. Authoritarianism doesn’t arrive with a dramatic or coup-like event. It advances quietly, in daylight, through choices, habits, and silence. The administration made all their actions clear, they spelled it out!

1. I don’t agree with those who slam the engagement experience here on Bluesky. I can’t speak for others’ experiences, but mine is 98% positive & constructive.
2. A key to that for me is immediately blocking negative, insulting or toxic sources.
3. I don’t like block lists. I make my own judgement.

It’s going to be an interesting few weeks when the royal commission examines, as I suspect it will, the defraying of social cohesion caused by the organised censorship of writers, artists and employees across the country for daring to speak against an unfolding genocide

NEW article by me!

We can now visualize pathogens down to atoms; design vaccines in weeks; manufacture them in microbial factories; engineer them more precise than ever before.

We're living through a golden age of vaccine development, but only if we continue to invest in them.

Perhaps show your support for the people with principles by giving a bit of money to The Australia Institute, who quickly pulled out sponsorship and participation

As a former Director of Adelaide Writers' Week I am appalled that the Adelaide Festival Board has rescinded Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah's invitation to the 2026 AWW, explicitly linking its decision to the shattering crimes in Bondi.

A shocking decision that will and should have far-reaching consequences.
