This begins the epic thread of dealing with the wine my father left me. This will probably take me days / weeks.

All wine was stored in in his house in So Cal, either the garage or the non-A/C living room. One bottle stored over the wall oven. 😳
You pay either way for food, clothing, shelter and care.

Might as well pay for a version that gets better results and is healthier for everyone involved.
Given how many hundreds of billions of dollars we’re spending on these enterprises, maybe we could just use that money to create a social safety net that incentivizes human flourishing rather than crimes of desperation and armies of prison guards and masked vigilantes? Just spitballing here.

More mushrooms? More mushrooms!
Yesterday was sweet tooth's (similar to hedgehogs but larger) in butter, sage and cognac to top butternut ravioli (purchased).

Today it's a ricotta onion custard tart w/roasted matsutakes.

(and yes, those are light saber electric pepper grinders)

Hey @indivisible.org @coin-indivisible.bsky.social
This is reported to be fake. Please delete this post until you can verify its veracity. You do not need to be spreading unverified information. There's enough to be outraged about with the verified stuff.

He just declared this for OR. Be safe out there folks.

Happy Gävlebocken season! Every year since 1966, Gävle, Sweden, has erected a massive version of Scandinavia's traditional straw Yule goat. It is so attractive to vandals—particularly arsonists—that in the previous 59 years, only 17 goats have survived fully intact. Good luck in 2025, Gävlebocken!
The Gävlebocken cam is live folks, this is not a drill

Now it's the Christmas season!
You know it's the holiday season in Portland when the nose is lit on the White Stag sign.

A happy accident: the many pomme pie, crumb topping with homemade cinnamon ice cream (not an accident). Delicious and unexpectedly lovely from the variegated shades from cream to pink.

It was supposed be pink apple and quince, but my quince had mostly turned - short nearly half a pie! (1/2)

I will not be shaming anyone's choices today, even if today is no big deal.

Whoever & wherever you are, I hope you can be with people you love, eat what you love, and be thankful for any blessings in your life.

And if you can't do those things I hope life gets better for you in the future.

When Democrats propose a bill limiting the President’s power to deploy National Guard troops on US soil they should name the act after the guardsmen who tragically lost their lives today because of Trump’s capricious decision to deploy them to DC for no good reason.

These are destined for tomorrow's stuffing.

Homemade saba from some of this year's grape harvest. Toughest part is straining the solids from the juice before cooking.

Struggled a little with thick consistency but easy fix adding a bit of water back to thin.

May try simple versus next year.

No, I will not be making wine.

As holiday travel picks up, we have heard reports of travelers being detained by DHS.

If you are a NY-14 constituent worried about detention, consider filling out an ICE privacy release form. This form allows my office to contact ICE on your behalf ⬇️

The lack of consequences for all the illegal acts of this man is fundamental to where we are now, and to the damage done and to be done.

Brazil and South Korea and France have done much better.

This feels like something that can be done anywhere and I suspect already happens (in some form) in a lot of major cities.

I hope they block this in every possible way. I would not put it past this administration to bulldoze the coastline without permits just to screw the state. They did with the White House.
A federal contractor representing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told Oregon officials last week that they are preparing an analysis of an unspecified project that would have significant environmental ramifications for the coastal city of Newport.

Don't wait or warn them, just start prosecuting! They aren't going to stop if you ask nice.
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and district attorneys of the state’s three-largest counties say they will start investigating and prosecuting federal immigration enforcement agents if they don’t stop using excessive force on Oregonians.

This is the expected GOP reaction to the Dem wins earlier this month.

A lot of citizens abroad are military. They don't care about the military. They will do anything and screw anyone to hold onto power.

Expect more voter suppression efforts throughout the next year.
