Exactly right. Condemning a dying sociopath with a 36% approval rating isn’t breathtaking courage or the opening volley of a revolution — it’s just good PR.
at least at this point, I would say that this seems less like a tipping point in itself and more evidence that trump's increasing unpopularity has led others in the GOP to feel more comfortable criticizing him.
This is the fifth GOP congressperson I’ve seen criticizing Trump’s post on Rob Reiner, and the first who isn’t either leaving the House (MTG, Bacon), a frequent critic (Massie), or in a swing district (Lawler).

Yes Katie, there are words. There are words. Evil, psychopathic, hateful, dangerous, not human, monstrous, pathologically narcissistic, something a mass murderer or a serial killer would say…that’s just a start, I’ve got more. Did I say evil? There are words.

So many of us loved Rob Reiner's movies. He left such a profound impact on so many.

What an absolutely black-hearted and despicable statement from the President of the United States about a man who was just murdered. Trump is deeply unwell and unfit to serve.

This country knowingly put evil in the White House. This great, good, decent country knowingly put someone who is evil in power. Americans knowingly voted for an evil monster. And so to remind you once more - this Trump era has never been about Trump. It’s always been about us, about us as a people.

If the New York Times was waiting for a news hook to write a long-overdue story about how Trump is mentally unfit to be president, Trump has provided one today with his post saying Rob Reiner got murdered because he was mean to Trump.

Another horrific story.
