Based on all the creation myths I've read, I figure the two most human instincts are to be and to create.

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

Oh how the ocean has carried me through grief with its warm waters, its endlessness. My head above, the sounds of water lapping, the seagulls' cacophony of bark-whistling screeches, begging for food. Dipping my head below the waves, sound becomes muted and I swim away a sea turtle.

AOC said earlier that more than 30,000 people showed up for this Denver rally; three times larger than the rally the Sanders campaign had in the park when he ran for president.

Sanders: “We have never ever had a rally as large as this.”

Republicans’ partisan spending bill turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

It’s unthinkable that any Senate Democrat would hand them a blank check by voting for cloture.

AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

I realized some of you might've missed this @propublica.org story because you — understandably — have certain words or phrases muted.

But y'all need to know what financial and bookkeeping shenanigans Trump 2.0 is looking to test, starting with HUD.

Pro-tip for university administrators: when the government illegally cancels your grants, your first response shouldn't be "you kind of have a point."
Email from Columbia President Armstrong makes clear that admin still has no idea what it’s dealing with. No amount of “serious action to combat antisemitism” (read: punish Palestine activists) will satisfy the Nazis. They see universities as an enemy institution to crush underfoot.

Reading Powers and Thrones and Medieval history and it’s wild how crusades went from Christians getting their butt kicked in the levant to calling everything a crusade to justify power grabs.

Funny how words used to justify violence become devoid of all meaning historically and today.

Liberty Lake is basically in Idaho. This is militia country, from the old school Aryan Nation freaks to Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. Dani has never organized anything before, but she stepped up to lead a #teslatakedown action. Look what happens when one person has the courage to step up!
Our #TeslaTakedown event went so much better than I expected! We had 50-60 amazing folks join in. Far more cheers than boos from people driving by. Spokane, you made me so proud today! Wanna do it again next week? 😊

Tesla stock is down 14% since close of markets last Friday. What happened during that time? One answer: mass protests.

I describe what it was like at one such protest. What I saw fulfills what I describe as neuroscience-based requirements for effective action. samwang.substack.com/p/the-effect...
