Yearly reminder that you CAN just become a different person, you're not as imprisoned in your life as you think. You can just be the one who dresses nice or exercises or reads a lot, or whatever. You can just start doing it, some people might make fun of you but they don't really care.

My 70yo mom likes to send a little gift package every year, mostly with some small clothing like socks or a shirt, along with some snacks from back home that I can't get here. This year, there was a box marked to my wife.

Y'know, there was a time when rich people would just pay artists to make art. Pay for their room and board, and just let artists go to town on a canvas, for the sheer appreciation of the craft.
We’re not running out of good ideas, but the tech fetishists who have no ideas other than “but I put a lot of money and emotion into this basket” always do, and their narcissism does not allow them to consider that their failed ideas suck, and the flop sweat is palpable.
