By the way, I am so goddamn sick and tired of Democratic leadership offering "next week" as a timeframe for taking action. I don't care that you're in recess. We're in a five-alarm crisis, and I'm tired of waiting for next week.
If Mr. Schumer spent a fraction as much time pushing an aggressive policy vision for the Democratic Party as he's spent the past week calling lawmakers, donors, and organizations to save his own hide, he wouldn't be in this situation, nor would we.
