Maybe there is a problem with "expectations of school life" and not with the children.
Breaking: Too many children are ‘falling out of step with the expectations of school life’ through absence, making them ‘more likely to cross boundaries, challenge teachers’ and disrupt learning, the head of Ofsted has warned

Should is doing a lot of work here
Labour's argument that it cannot get its workers rights bill provisions regarding day 1 rights through the House of Lords doesn't add up. It's explicitly mentioned in its 2024 manifesto so the Lords should be bound by the Salisbury Convention.

Which government has increased investment and NHS spending, increased taxes on inheritance, non doms and capital gains, nationalised the railways, ended the onshore windfarm ban, brought back Sure Start and expanded free schools meals?

This one ⬇️

Lots done, more to do as Darren says.

In what way is producing the most miserable children in the OECD "working".
(FWIW, I think the new curriculum review does a really good job at not damaging a system that is working while making sensible recommendations for additions)

Imagine having to sit in prison-like environs for two full days cus your boss didn’t like your hair.

The normalisation of this kind of stuff in our schooling system really should be understood as a national scandal

Businesses have noticed this is a leftwing government. Farmers have noticed. The globally mobile rich have noticed. Basically the only people who don’t think this is a leftwing government are the people who want one.

As opposed to MAT bosses with big egos who are accountable to no one?
To me, schools need another layer of elected individuals with big egos using them as electoral puppets like they need a hole in the head.

That’s a good line. More please.
Labour Party spokesperson on Danny Kruger MP’s defection to Reform UK: "Every Conservative who defects to Reform ties Nigel Farage more closely to their record of failure. Nigel Farage can recruit as many failed Tories as he likes – it won’t change the fact that he has no plan for Britain."
