Hop on Bluesky. Dumpster fire of Nuzzi news clearly dropped with everyone self righteously proclaiming “I’m not reading that trash. What even is a Nuzzi?” while still back patting/posting about not engaging with the trash. Meanwhile I’m still scouring for the link. Everything sucks, give me trash!

All Her Fault was a good watch but

*possible spoiler, stop reading*

If you’re gonna cast Jake Lacy, I’m gonna clock him as the bad guy from the moment he appears on screen. Please, cast him as a good guy in a mystery/suspense/thriller so I don’t always assume.

If you have tenure at Texas A&M and aren't maliciously emailing the president a dozen times every day to ask if you can say this or you can say that, then what's the point in having tenure?

not only has he not used his wealth to aid humanity, he specifically used his wealth to gain control of us global aid, and proceed to gut it, killing 600k so far and quite possibly murdering as many as 14 million, most of them children.

“As I Lay Dying” and “Till We Have Faces” did some serious damage (complimentary)
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

It was a holiday but I was still out here writing about how Trump keeps telling people he’ll give them stuff that he won’t and can’t but somehow we’re all supposed to believe he will and can. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | Trump's $2000 checks from tariff revenue? The math doesn't add up.
Here are the charts to prove it.

Ha! He did this exact thing to Roy Cohn (May he never rest in hell) and it’s kinda hysterical, all horrifying things Trump does considered.
Trump’s gold bling in the WH reminded me of a clip I posted 5 years ago of Charlie Sheen in the UK telling a story of the time Trump gave him a wedding gift.

ICE would be a lot more effective at cleaning up the “crime ridden cities” if they were rounding up all the Trump pardoned criminal friends, donors and J6-ers
Welcome to “justice” in Donald Trump’s America.

Absolutely none of our allies should be sharing ANY intelligence with us that they would not want Russia to know. And I think they know that

I was on the phone w/ Amazon an hour today. I wasn’t particularly nice, i just wanted to get off the phone. just “okay, sure, fine” “can you hold for longer?” “Yup”

At the end the rep said “and I want to thank you for being the nicest person I talked to today”. It was a total punch to the gut.

Someone left this cookbook in my Little Free Library and I wonder if it’s a subtle commentary on the importance of immigration to the culinary cuisine of America? 🧐

I always forget Angus King is NOT a Republican and it has absolutely nothing to do with policy. It’s the name. ANGUS KING. It’s such an oozing Republican vibes name.

Senate terms are too long at six years. There’s not enough accountability for bad votes. Voters memories are short. Please, tell me if I’m wrong and why. I’m happy to be mansplained on this one. I’m earnestly asking for a reason it’s not 4 years or whatever.

It does so much more than expand Medicaid, but yes, it’s so terribly flawed and also so terribly necessary when ‘nothing’ is the alternative
this is the thing about the ACA. it was always deeply flawed legislation, a handout to insurance companies that only meagerly expanded social welfare by giving states the *option* (often refused) to loosen requirements on medicaid. yet it was and remains a HUGE life-saver for so many people!
The ACA made my whole self-employed life possible. For almost ten years, I was able to build a career that actually worked for me AND keep receiving necessary care to address the consequences of childhood medical neglect. And I still deserved better. We all do.

I see a lot of people saying EVERY democrat should be primaried cause our blood is rightfully boiling. I agree in theory but realistically we should primary the awful ones. Practically, a primary is expensive. I don’t want AOC etc., wasting money on a primary before the general. *I’m a buzzkill*

So ya’ll know, I’m not on ACA anymore so I have no skin in the game. I’m just not a monster.
I was 23 when my disability began. I spent yrs living in fear & lost so much for lack of treatment. If the ACA had existed back then I could have still been on my parents insurance. Instead, I was denied for pre-existing conditions. I paid out of pocket $150-400 for general gp visits w/ no answers
I was convinced I was dying of a brain tumor. I knew I couldn’t walk and I was very dizzy all the time. I dropped out of college. Only w/ ACA could I get an MRI, tilt table test, bloodwork, neurologists & on & on. I never could have paid out of pocket for those tests making 2k a month

My disability began over 20 years ago. I went years thinking I was dying and developing a panic/anxiety disorder because I could not see dr’s because I could not get insured. (Pre-existing condition) The first year of ACA was when I finally started seeing dr’s, got tests and rough diagnosis.
