2025 has been incredibly weird and mostly bad. However, I did mostly accidentally adopt a man-sized werewolf whose anxiety is soothed by the dulcet sounds of Murder, She Wrote and I'm now active on the Murder, She Wrote wiki & vintage suit eBay so there are upsides.

DOJ’s Epstein Files portal is live. We tried it and can tell you it doesn’t follow the law. Trump’s own Chief of Staff says he’s in the files. Yet, he’s not here.

The law is clear: they must release ALL of the files (including the ones with Trump) TODAY. ⬇️

It's nice when you get a "you're doing ok as a parent" reminder. Yesterday my eldest quoted The Sandlot at the funniest possible moment & youngest casually dropped "I was sharing The Beach Boys Christmas Album w/my friends & we agree every Beach Boys song sounds like a movie montage is happening."

this is exactly why more departments need to think about how much grad students, adjuncts, and non-TT teaching faculty bear the brunt of this harassment in the classroom because they teach courses for more non-majors who are more likely to cause a ruckus over content

Helping the high school senior with college apps, my PhD comp exam is in a week, its cyber Monday and I'm a Customer Service manager for an online retailer, and I have 45 student projects to grade.
I'm vibrating like a Pokémon about to reach its final form.

Sometimes I am convinced that Hawthorne and Melville were put on this earth to torture me, specifically.
Or I was put on this earth to be tortured by them (more likely).

Our rescue dog, Mr. Darcy, has zero coordination. It's like he's waking up in his body for the first time every day. This would be fine if he weren't literally 100 lbs and the longest creature to ever exist.

Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.

Israel has held 16-year-old American, Mohammed Ibrahim, without trial, for 9 months.

He has been denied contact with family & his health is deteriorating. He says he falsely confessed to throwing a rock after being beaten.

America needs to secure his release NOW.

I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

"What should poor people be allowed to eat?" seems to be a burning question for those who aren't poor, have never been poor, and can afford to eat what they like, but want to keep poor people from eating anything that tastes really good. "No fresh meat," said Iowa, a few years ago.
