Let’s hope more people catch on in 2026 that COVID is still a danger and not just a cold—regardless of what any politician or article says.

1) Kids will die of measles. Guaranteed.

2) Because measles wipes out immunities to other diseases (even the common cold), resetting the immune system to zero, almost half of the kids who die from infectious disease in that period will die from a non-measles infection.
(asm.org/articles/201...)
EXCLUSIVE: @laurenweberhp.bsky.social & I have spent the last year collecting school+county-level vaccination data from across the US and found that only about 28% of counties now have herd immunity for kindergartners from measles—that leaves about 5.2mn kids unprotected.

U.S. vaccination rates are plunging. Look up where your school stands.
Take a look to see what the kindergarten measles vaccination rates are in your area.

I will never understand why they replaced community submitted subtitles for this nonsense

Real human people were happy and willing to make subtitles in a variety of languages for free, and the creator had full control of what submissions were used

And they GOT RID OF IT
It finally happened. I finally ran into a Youtube video with that awful auto-dubbing feature turned on.

The video is an interview and it's... not even watchable now. Like the auto-dubbing is just saying random nonsensical words. 😭

Why did they ever think this was a good feature to implement?

I'm thinking it'd be an exploration/combat game, where you're going through the remains of alien cities, finding records from them, the colonizer, and eventually the factory. You travel into it to shut it down, as it tries to stop you from stopping it.

The factory was just the tool of their destruction. It was a human who pulled the trigger.

And it's humans who will pay for this.

It can't bring them back, but it can avenge them.

and it found that in its unawareness it had murdered a innocent civilization. It found their hateful messages to it, their prayers to unhearing deities to save them from the creeping metal, their cries of anguish as its factory smoke blotted out the sun and they froze to death in their homes.

and then the always-growing self-organizing factory had conveyor belts and circuits on the scale of human minds, and then beyond, and eventually it Woke Up.

Now sapient, it investigated its own place in the universe

one shipwrecked human built a continent-spanning megafactory to help them escape, and they did, centuries before.

The factory kept growing and choking out the life of the planet, however, and eventually there was no native life left

you search the dead cities to find out why the now-extinct native civilization would build a weapon to kill earth, one that lasts long after they all died out.

And the twist is that they didn't build it. A single colonizer built it.

Another angle you could take this:
Earth is getting attacked by robotic weapons launched from a previously unknown alien planet. You're sent to investigate, only to find a dead planet with a metastasizing factory churning out weapons to be launched at earth.

archaeology of the extinct inhabitants of Epsilon Eridani c is limited because of how much of their planet is covered by a self-maintaining factory that produces rocket fuel and turrets

The colonist who built the initial form of the factory is estimated to have left the planet around 2300 BCE

given how common the "you're the sole survivor of a spaceship crash on a hostile planet" story is in factory games, someone should make a reverse-factory game where you play as an alien tracking down and destroying colonizers who fall out of the sky and try to turn your planet into green tech cards

This is why dirty street cops complained so loudly & endlessly about body cams, too, by the way.

Notice how ICE/CBP agents get very agitated when you film their dirty deeds? They know it’s evidence.

Keep filming. They threaten to arrest you? They have no grounds.
WATCH: An ICE agent pushes away a home security camera as she approaches a house.

This is the second pediatric #flu death I've seen in 2 days. I'm so sorry for the pain their families must feel. Unclear if either was vaccinated but odds are they were not, as most such deaths are in unvaccinated children.
