There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

"Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein" is a phrase that first appeared in newspapers in March 2011 and appeared regularly from that point onward. it is INCONCEIVABLE to me that this many people were still associating with him!!

“If Jeanne Shaheen or Angus King, or ideally just Chuck Schumer, went to the mics and said: We have tried everything we can to make Republicans give you back your health care. They refuse to do so. The only way you’re going to get your health care back is to elect Democrats.”
Now that Dems have capitulated, at the very least they should now make every future extension of funding contingent on Trump following the law. Any lawbreaking must be met with: No more votes from us, period.

My exchange with @brianbeutler.bsky.social on that point:

Blue jackets continue to find insane ways to lose hockey games
Oilers win 5-4 in OT, Roslovic with a breakaway winner 56 seconds into it. #CBJ falls for a fourth straight game (0-3-1) and must play again Tues in Seattle.

I need to emphasize what I say down-thread: this is a temporary, procedural move known as an administrative stay issued in haste by Justice Jackson.

Little to nothing should be read into this ruling for how SCOTUS might ultimately rule on SNAP—either way.
BREAKING: the Supreme Court has granted Trump administration’s request.
So the justices will weigh the irreparable harm to the government of having to transfer the funds against the irreparable harm of tens of millions of people not eating

Every dollar spent on SNAP generates between $1.50 and $1.80 for local economies.

Even if you don’t care about poor people (which you absolutely should), you should care about the entirely self-inflicted negative economic impact this is going to have
i know these people are too stupid to realize it but snap benefits and food assistance actually take money from
the federal government, pass it through real people to feed them, and then that money ends up in the local economy and farms. it’s exactly the kind of thing you want to happen!

“Walmart was the top employer of SNAP recipients in five states and one of the top four employers in the remaining four states. McDonald’s was among the top five employers of Medicaid enrollees in five of six states and SNAP recipients in eight of nine states.”

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

But instead of separating themselves from Trump, they’re doubling down on his disastrous policies

Now, they know they can’t win with these bad ideas

That’s why they’re trying to gerrymander every state they possibly can
