It's been a few months now, and I still absolutely hate iOS 26. But the disappearing nav bar in Apple Music, now adopted in other apps too, really is the final straw. It drives me absolutely nuts every time I have to drag it back up again. I decided to complain in a very British way.

I'm glad "slop" is a recognized word, but we need one for people who are into "tech" but only by way of looking at outputs of things they don't control. Like comparing different AI tools, or reporting on how their self driving cars drive.

one of the funnier aspects to the AI backlash is the fact that they're negatively polarizing much of the tech enthusiast demographic against them by making hobbyist PC building functionally unaffordable
Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
