COMMENTARY: It seems an increasing number of Americans, including elected leaders and journalists, are afraid to tell the truth about what happened on January 6. That's dangerous.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

The constitutional remedy for a president who launches a war of acquisition against an ally is impeachment, removal, disqualification, and ultimately a criminal trial. And the same is true for every member of his cabinet involved in such an illegal undertaking.

I see people saying Jan 6th wasn't a failed, but rather a successful coup because Trump is in power.

I'd urge you not to say this. It's disrespectful to those of us who sacrificed to make it fail, and it abdicates responsibility from the millions of Americans who voted for Trump.

The lesson of January 6th is that it does absolutely no good to prosecute the the violent foot soldiers if you're not going to prosecute the leaders and hold them accountable for their sedition under the full force of the law.

Trump is increasingly worried about his own mortality, and he's trying to use government to create a physical legacy that will outlive him.

Which is why every bit of it must be torn down and smashed to bits.

Democratic politicians need to stop accepting Trump’s white nationalist premise that immigration is bad and proudly and loudly make a positive case for why America’s identity and history as a nation of immigrants is so important.

As the Trump administration clumsily moves toward an unnecessary and irresponsible and narcissistic war with Venezuela, I want to take a brief moment to offer this sentiment to those who voted for him over VP Harris because they believed it would keep us out of unnecessary wars:

FUCK. YOU.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Just as a reminder, Bondi’s origin story in Trump world is that she said she was going to investigate Trump University, Trump sent her a $25K check and the investigation disappeared. She later became Trump’s personal defense lawyer. So yeah, don’t challenge her integrity.
Bondi to Blumenthal: "You lied. How dare you? I'm a career prosecutor. Don't you ever challenge my integrity. Do not question my ability to be fair and impartial."

Breaking News: A federal judge declined to immediately block President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois. The judge’s ruling came as a military official said 200 troops from the Texas Guard were headed to the state.

Jake Tapper, who eviscerated Biden for the sin of growing older, has done everything but help install a chair lift in the White House to cover up Trump's deepening dementia and utter feebleness.
Jake Tapper did a whole interview with Trump by text message? Which means he can't actually confirm it was him. And now everyone's asking even more than before very reasonable questions about the wannabe dictator's health.
