Suozzi: "In my district, if you make $130,000 & you're a family of 4, you now pay 8.5% of your income for health insurance - $10k to $11,000 a year. That's gonna go up to $30k a year, which means your premium is going to increase $1,500 a month. That's crazy. People are not gonna buy the insurance"

The Americans Who Saw All This Coming—but Were Ignored and Maligned
Call them the Cassandras: the people—mostly not white and male—who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they “alarmists,” and how did “anti-alarmism” become cool?

Every GOP and 16 of 47 Democratic Senators voted to install Jared Isaacman, the billionaire acolyte of neo-Nazi soon-to-be-trillionaire Elon Musk, as NASA Administrator, knowing he plans to dismantle and privatize NASA, in particular its earth science mission.

I'm old enough to remember when the networks refused to carry an incredibly important speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia by President Biden about creeping fascism in the U.S. because it was "too political".

Sure, but they'll broadcast every minute of Trump's propaganda bullshit. 🙄

Rubio was photographed pacing around the Oval today and then Trump tweaked out on camera for 20 minutes tonight. I wonder what speech Trump planned to give when he announced it yesterday and if plans changed.

President Trump says that checks for $1,776 each are going out to nearly 1.5 million servicemembers. I have questions.

+ When did Congress approve such a plan?
+ Where is the money coming from?
+ How is it non-taxable? Did Congress vote to do that?
I'm sure there must be specific bill text.

Notice that the parts of Trump's economic program that help working and middle class Americans — DOGE checks, tariff rebates, and warrior dividends — are popular, progressive, and non-existent. Tax cuts for the rich are unpopular, regressive and very very real.

it is terrifying and awful that this passed the House with any Dem support at all (and once again, the continued leadership support for Cuellar is unconscionable)

call your senators and make absolutely sure this dies in the Senate, lives are on the line

trans people deserve so much better
Henry Cuellar, Don Davis, and Vicente Gonzalez joined Republicans in voting to criminalize trans health care.

The bill passed only 216 to 214.

4 Republicans voted no. If they did too, it would have failed.

one upside of trump insisting on a "presidential address" is it interrupted programming on every major broadcast network. so a whole bunch of normies who only see sanitized versions of
him were treated to live video of a rabid fucking hyena behind the presidential seal.
