I would love to think that the President of the United States calling for the execution of Democrat lawmakers and reposting an account with an Iron Cross as its avatar would be something the corporate press would take seriously and cover but they value their access over everything. Total failures.

I mean it's great that the bill was passed but we already know the DOJ will selectively withhold anything bad for Trump, the press will immediately declare there's nothing to it, and the public will generally forget about it in a month. I really don't get why people think this will be any different.

I had to read this twice to believe it...Meloni, who ran for office on an anti-immigration platform, has now announced plans to let in hundreds of thousands of immigrants, in order to deal with the Italian labor shortage

The President calling for the deportation of US citizens, the Myles Turner trade, and now this.
The iconic Red Panda just left the court in a wheelchair after falling less than a minute into her famed halftime act.

She briefly got up, with assistance, appearing to hold her back, before she was eventually taken to the back of Target Center in a wheelchair

If a sitting president can openly muse about arresting and disappearing someone who is likely to become mayor of the country's largest city, while also getting the funding for a massive secret police, it'd be hard to find sufficient evidence to qualify that country as a democracy.
Trump threatens to arrest Mamdani and then adds, "a lot of people are saying he's here illegally"

UH HELLO?! ANY ELECTED DEMOCRAT?!?!
Trump calls for deporting US citizens: "We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time ... many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too, if you want to know the truth. So maybe that'll be the next job."

DOJ announces plans to prioritize cases to revoke citizenship
Denaturalization is a tactic heavily used during the McCarthy era and one that was expanded during the Obama administration and grew further during President Trump's first term. It's a tool usually us...

The White House has ordered the US Dept. of Justice to prioritize denaturalization: voiding the citizenship of US citizens.

Who will it denaturalize? "Any" case that it "determines to be sufficiently important".

Point 10 leaves the criteria opaque and arbitrary.

All the reactionary centrists attacking Mamdami every day will deny -- to us, even to themselves I think -- that they play a key role in enabling this kind of shit. But that is literally their function in the current US political structure.
Karoline Leavitt indicates the administration is open to a denaturalization-oriented investigation against Zohran Mamdani

Whining about doing your job at 1pm on a Monday is just pathetic. Resign already.
The Fetterman "oh my god, I just want to go home, I already missed our trip to the beach" comment is real, and there's video, again credited to Alan He of CBS News.

Defunding cancer research and using that money to increase ICE's budget to that of a small nation's army has nothing to do with fiscal responsibility, it's a deliberate choice of what this administration and GOP prioritize.

ICE *already* can't meet their detainment numbers without rounding up children, veterans, people born in the U.S., people with no criminal records, people at immigration hearings, plus academics and visitors with valid visas.

So who do they plan to detain with >10x the budget?

The answer is: you.
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Really funny how establishment Democrats for the past few months have been lecturing the base about how now is not the time to try and replace people in its ranks because we have to focus all our energy on Trump…and then Mamdani got elected and now they’re doing everything they can to take him down.

Republicans are getting what they paid for: a court willing to cede its power to an executive but only if a Republican is in power. But Democrats will retake power, and John Roberts is all but guaranteeing that Trump’s Supreme Court will barely outlast the Trump administration.
there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

BREAKING: We're filing a new class-action lawsuit to challenge President Trump's lawsuit restricting birthright citizenship.

The 14th Amendment is clear: Every child born on U.S. soil is a citizen, whether the president likes it or not.

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?
