It goes without saying that Bovino's ouster and the potential firing of Noem should have no bearing on whether Senate Democrats continue not support additional funding of DHS. ICE's mission of lawlessly terrorizing communities will not stop regardless of who is in charge. Don't take the bait.

Any Democrat running in 2026 that does not support the abolition of ICE should not be supported. I don't give a fuck what your state/district looks like, what is happening right now is an existential threat to our liberties. I would love to think that the President of the United States calling for the execution of Democrat lawmakers and reposting an account with an Iron Cross as its avatar would be something the corporate press would take seriously and cover but they value their access over everything. Total failures.

I mean it's great that the bill was passed but we already know the DOJ will selectively withhold anything bad for Trump, the press will immediately declare there's nothing to it, and the public will generally forget about it in a month. I really don't get why people think this will be any different.

If a sitting president can openly muse about arresting and disappearing someone who is likely to become mayor of the country's largest city, while also getting the funding for a massive secret police, it'd be hard to find sufficient evidence to qualify that country as a democracy.
