Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.

GERMAN PRESIDENT STEINMEIER:

“.. the United States has broken with the values that it helped to establish ..

“.. we have now moved beyond the stage where we can lament the lack of respect for international law or the erosion of the international order; we are far beyond that, I believe.”

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

Say bad things are bad.

Here's the ICE agent "defending himself" by shooting into the driver's side window of a car that's pulling *away* from him.

Put this photo on the front page of every newspaper in America.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

Read it and shiver in contemplation of the monstrous consequences of this immoral and profoundly dangerous world view, the one that now guides the most powerful nation on the planet.
Here is the Trump Doctrine, as articulated by Stephen Miller in his truly frightening interview with Jake Tapper this afternoon. It is very much like the doctrine of the dictators we fought and defeated in World War II and of Putin today. It is un-American at its very core.

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

The failure of our elites to hold Trump accountable for January 6th is as disgraceful as what happened on that awful day.

Since 2010, 35 democratic leaders around the world have been criminally convicted. Only Trump went unpunished and unconstrained.

Now he threatens democracy at home and abroad.

When Democratic Senators repeatedly vote to confirm Trump’s Cabinet picks, they are telling you that they do not care about our democracy or their constituents.

They are on the side of the wealthy corporations & the pedophiles who are destroying our country.

Vote accordingly.
The Trump administration just conducted an illegal attack on Venezuela and has spoken about attacking Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, and Denmark.

These Democrats just voted to confirm Trump's nominee for Assistant Secretary of Defense:

Fetterman
Gallego
Kaine
King
Reed
Rosen
Shaheen

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

While the Senate is asking Trump why they started a war to kidnap a foreign leader perhaps they might also ask why Trump freed a former foreign leader convicted of the same kind of crimes.

The person charged with enforcing the laws is an open lawbreaker, assisted by a team of open lawbreakers, backed by a Congressional majority indifferent to lawbreaking, supported by a Supreme Court that privileges them to break the law.

It has no legitimacy whatsoever.
The person charged with enforcing the laws is himself a law breaker. In such a state, do laws even have any legitimacy?

Trump and Bondi are in flagrant violation of a law passed unanimously by Congress. It’s a huge and shocking f-ck you to the survivors, Congress, and the American people.
I don’t think the law passed by Congress said that DOJ has to release less than 1% of the materials by Dec 19.

I expected Trump to hide his crimes in the Trump-Epstein Files with a scalpel, so we could endless debate if he truly released the un-redacted files: FACT TRUMP HAD TO TAKE A CHAINSAW TO THE TRUMP-EPSTEIN FILES TO RELEASE THEM WITHOUT INCRIMINATING HIMSELF MEANS HE MUST BE HIDING A LOT OF CRIMES
