Many, many valid reasons to dislike the Avatar movies (too long, derivative story, big-time problematic), but the “no cultural impact” argument seems like the most reductive way to dismiss them. Like how do you even quantify that? “This movie isn’t quoted enough and there’s no merch!” So?
