On the follow up, after working in Word and Photoshop, I come to despise Time New Romans. It feels so disgustingly bland that it’s more useful as a default and holder font. Unless I’m told, I’ll never use it in my writing or text. It repels me to my inner core
Let’s hope for those Comic Sans fans out there don’t get targeted by the administration for no reason or else we have to step in and hold our sweaty hands with them in the name of solidarity…

Another way to think about it is there are three standard shot sizes in cinematography, and while comics is so much more than film, knowing some camera basics can help:
* WIDE: Shows whole body (inc feet!). Great for showing environment, spatial relationships, big action / comedy. (1/more)

it sounds like dumb online meme nonsense but it's not; every 2-3 pages make sure you draw your character so their feet show, it grounds them in the environment and forces you to vary your panel composition.

I agree that college students shouldn't be forced to study chemistry or economics (fake, doesn't matter) but they should be forced to study poetry and art (real, makes life worth living).

if you want to be an author of any worth, you need poetry. you need to be able to find the divine in the quotidian. if you can't, you might write books, but you won't leave a mark on people.
If you are providing me with an education that is low utility in the world then it’s a disservice. My composition class spent four weeks on poetry. I’m sorry, but that only would’ve been useful if I wanted to be a poet. I don’t need to know iambic pentameter in order to be a victim advocate.
