By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

The world created by deputizing every annoying person to determine if someone is appropriately disabled is such a worse world than the one where accommodations are sometimes used by those who don't need them. Kill the puritan in your brain.
I do think the only workable solution is occasionally making a high profile, dramatic example of people who get caught flagrantly abusing the system which helps generate social opprobrium for rule breakers.

Detained at her annual ICE check-in and deported. Clearly documented, clearly they knew where she was, clearly no catalyst to cause her to be deported except the fascist admin and the ICE officers that Maryland officials did not stop from operating in our communities.
ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.
