It's only “DEI” if it comes from liberal coastal cities. Otherwise it's just sparkling white supremacy.

Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

America's richest 10% now hold 60% of the nation's wealth.

The bottom half of America? It holds just 6%.

Wealth inequality is eating this country alive.

Here in the Midwest, data centers threaten to suck up fresh water from our Great Lakes. Just one of may examples includes a Microsoft plant now under construction near Racine, WI that is expected to use upwards of 8 MILLION gallons a day. A day! That is not okay.

In America, where irony is dead, a hotel chain uses a policy denying shelter to local people, for fear of accidentally housing homeless persons…

To deny a reservation to the author of a much-lauded book on how American economic unfairness forces working people into homelessness.
A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

This is one of the things that's often missing from online discussions of anti-capitalist theory. The question that actually determines our socioeconomic status and fate is this:

Do you live off what you're paid for your own labor, or off the profits you draw from the labor of others?
I can’t believe you idiots are still arguing with me about this. Idc what your job is paying you now, you still have to labor for your money. You’re working class.

All it takes is an unfortunate accident or illness for you to be in the poor house. Medical debt and fallout would cripple you. Stfu.
All of you are poor. These hypothetical poor people everyone is discussing are us. We’re poor. Idc if you make 6 figures or not. You’re poor too.

If it feels like every tragedy gets twisted by MAGA into proof that people outside their movement are dangerous, you’re not imagining it. That instinct has a name in psychology, and MAGA has turned it into a political strategy.

The administration said it received too much public and legal backlash for firing employees who did nothing wrong, so if their performance “declines,” fewer people will defend them.

This is illegal! The Trump administration is instructing managers across the federal government (regardless of employee performance) to ensure that at least 80 percent of staff receive a 3 out of 5 rating, making them easier to terminate and easier to justify in court.

AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

Laying dormant in the Reagan and HW bush administrations? You fuckers watered the seeds that started this. You carefully fed them with welfare queen myths and the destruction of the mental health care system. You demonized poverty even while you created more of it. Now you ask are we the bad guys?

Literalization of metaphor applied to three-dimensional psychologically real characters and setting in fiction is often a catastrophe unless you quarantine it to a Borges-adjacent summary short story approach. Discuss.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

This is a hostile takeover of our country. And we are the resistance.

It’s not “We’ll definitely win.”
It’s not “We’ve already lost.”

It’s this: We may not know if we’ll win. But we do know what happens if we don’t resist. Resistance is what makes victory possible.
Always has.

They’re coming for abortion access nationwide—quietly, through the fine print. The “Big Ugly” bill would gut coverage for millions. Congressional Republicans know they can’t win on this issue in the open.

Don’t let them hide it.
Most people aren't tracking this, but the Big Ugly bill would effectively ban marketplace insurers from covering abortion care in ALL 50 states.

We can't let this stand. Please help spread the word.

Republicans are jamming this bill through—we have to speak up NOW.
