Oregon National Guard general said that if they were deployed, his troops would be instructed to protect the protesters, not ICE.

Huge thanks to @krysiawally.bsky.social , @jpuddlegoose.bsky.social & Bernice Hardie for sharing their work in faith communities for disability inclusion & social justice at @learningmet.bsky.social. Great to host such interesting speakers on a topic we don’t talk about enough in #DisabilityStudies.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?
Donald Trump Truth Social Post: Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also.

Thanks Naomi! It was a real pleasure to be there - and great to hear from the wondeful speakers. Despite talking about it, I forgot to post a link to the @livingedgeconf.bsky.social! I'll add it below...

My Bangladeshi 🇧🇩 born friend with whom I talk about cricket & rugby in the pub told me that he was abused in traffic today by someone with not much grammar and told to ‘get back on his boat’
He has lived here since he was 8 years old and is a valued local accountant 😔

I would refer us also to the fast-growing research evidence into ABA causing trauma & 'behaviour'. But as long as teams have a belief' that the child has had a lovely childhood with great interventions, and is just choosing to behaving badly, it's fine to drug them into submission.

Is it?

Gentle reminder that autistic mums are a) more likely to have autistic babies and b) more likely to have pain conditions that need Tylenol (paracetamol). Tylenol doesn't 'cause' the autistic babies.
It's not rocket science.
Unfortunately, some leaders gave up science in year 3, I think.

How can we share knowledge and insight across generations within our communities?

Less than two years ago, an Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Gaza city merited a multi-day news cycle, with international outrage forcing Israel to issue denials and launch an absurd but ultimately successful attempt to muddy the waters with dubious theories about Gazans bombing themselves.

Amongst those arrested in London for peacefully protesting the genocide in Gaza is this blind person in a wheelchair.

Staggeringly embarrassing and shaming for Starmer.

“Shame on you!” being shouted by the crowd.

BREAKING: We filed a class action lawsuit against ICE for denying people access to lawyers and subjecting them to inhumane conditions at 26 Federal Plaza in New York.

ICE is illegally holding people here for weeks, often without adequate access to medical care, food, or legal counsel.

I am horrified. If you use US material, download all old reports you use. The record will be erased. Even that might not save you: every report sourced from the US will now have to be suspected of politicised manipulation and will in the future the same credibility as Iran’s human rights reports

Deeply impressed by this. As someone who has been on long lists and short lists, the pressure - psychological, emotional, financial - to stay on them can be huge. I have immediately bought Sacha’s book.
