At this point, abolishing ICE is the bare minimum that needs to happen, with major prosecutions following for as many people involved in this shitshow as possible

Guys, we have masked secret police asking people for their papers, kidnapping human beings to send to gulags, and summarily executing people in the streets. I think we are the baddies.
January 8, 2026 at 2:27 AM
The problem isn’t lack of training or not coordinating with local law enforcement or any other bullshit, it’s that ICE exists and it should not exist. The “Abolish ICE” crowd was right all along.
Leader Schumer: I saw the video. It just turns your stomach. We need a quick and full investigation to get to the bottom of this. When you have these ICE agents all over our cities without any cooperation with local law enforcement and communities, horrible tragedies, killings occur.

Excellent thread. All this was waiting there for someone to tap into it, and I grew up around the people that love it the most. I always thought movement conservatism was full of shit and would lead somewhere like this. In my experience in Appalachian Ohio, conservatives have been extremely
The Republican Party changed not on account of Bush, but on account of Fox: the creation of an ever-expanding media bubble that conservatives could opt to live inside, where their every fantasy was indulged as true. This bubble was created as an instrument of movement conservatism, but consumed it.
Like virtually everyone else , Will forgets that Trump in fact ran for president prior to 2016, and barely registered. In fact what happened in between that the Republican Party fundamentally changed and most of that is on account of Bush.

This is what I assumed and hoped it would be. Trump just needs his narcissistic supply.
Is the speech he was planning to give ? He’s saying a bunch of nothing. It’s his stump speech

I won’t vote for Democrats who venerate vile, evil pieces of human garbage like Reagan. This motherfucker ruined this country.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

It will be nothing. I cannot even recall the last time a presidential address had any real meaning. Maybe Bush announcing the beginning of Iraq War II?

With Trump it’s almost certain to be a scam or attention-seeking.
JUST IN: Donald Trump says he will address the nation at 9 PM ET on December 17

Clearly Pete doesn’t actually want to be president but is being pushed to do so by people around him. This is him sabotaging himself ahead of time. So obvious.

(Sarcasm, btw)
This is a straightforward Republican attack line, what the fuck is he doing

I should have left “Nuzzi” on my blocked words list permanently. I can’t even stand that I know who she is.

Reparations for black and Native American people. Give the southwest back to Mexico. Deport all people of European ancestry back to Europe.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

This like when he renegotiated NAFTA into basically the same framework and just renamed it
Thinking about the many times I've seen "Obama is ignorant" or "AOC doesn't understand economics" or the like while Trump belches out a half-baked insincere proposal for a two-step version of the same ACA subsidy he's trying to eliminate.

Nationalize the healthcare system. There is no excuse for what we have beyond greed.
“I think most people are going to say, OK, I had a great deal during COVID,” said Club For Growth President David McIntosh. “But now it’s back to business as usual, and I should be paying for health care.”
Republicans Face Voter Anger Over Rising Health Care Premiums
Notices of rising health insurance premiums are landing in voters' mailboxes and sending some to Republican town halls to vent their frustration.

Everything on this list sounds like the minimum we should be demanding.
Morality, decency, justice, and fairness just never enter these discussions. Nor does the possibility that effective leadership and advocacy can move the needle.

The year I was born, public approval of interracial marriage was 30 percent. Death penalty support has dropped 30 percent since 2000.

The corruption is just mind-boggling, even from someone like me who lived through the Bush administration. Every one of these criminals looting the public treasury needs to never see the outside of a jail cell ever again.
Breaking News: President Trump wants $230 million from the Justice Department for investigating him, people familiar with the matter say. Any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit. nyti.ms/4hmIi5X

Burn. It. All. Down. 🔥
it wasn't enough that our cities and states already paid far more than they receive from the federal government. the people who elected trump want to steal more from us, to give to Argentina, to give to ICE, to give to billionaires. Intolerable
Trump admin has frozen or cancelled $28 b for projects, almost all in Dem districts. Small amount of frozen funds in GOP districts are in predominately Dem states (CA, OR, WA, CO, MN, IL, NY, MD), or in predominately Dem cities (St Louis, Atlanta, Greenville) www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Why did the media so credulously report Trump’s denials of any association with P2025 as truth?
President Trump says he is meeting today with Russ Vought, OMB director and "of PROJECT 2025 Fame," to discuss cuts to "Democrat Agencies."

Fascist says what?
Stephen Miller: "They say they are trying to kill the fascists & stop the fascists. It's deliberate. President Trump is saying that we as a nation are not going to tolerate it anymore & the joint terrorism task force at the FBI is going to find these terrorists & we're going to put them behind bars"
