This is the point to all of the morons saying ”this is what Trump wants, an excuse to escalate.” He has escalated multiple times in the last few hours alone without any conflict from protesters. The national guard is just standing around staring at people, but 700 marines are now on their way.
I am in downtown Los Angeles right now and it is completely surreal to hear that Trump is sending Marines here. We are listening to mariachi music. People have dogs. There are teenagers here. It is utterly and completely peaceful. Please tell your friends.

And to be clear, the government's argument in the Abrego Garcia case would apply even if it sent someone, including a U.S. citizen, to a foreign prison intentionally and with full knowledge that it was violating the law in doing so.
