This story sums up Trump: No need for evidence. No need for laws or treaties. No need for discussions. If Trump decides (based upon whatever random information or maybe just heartburn) that someone is in the wrong, he believes he has the right to kill them.

The US is now a rogue nation.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

83 murders...so far...just amongst Venezuelan boaters.

In what is, I'm sure, completely unrelated news: Venezuela has approximately 303 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, which is the largest amount in the world.

Under a dark sky, the Milky Way looks like a bright band interrupted by black rivers.

Those rivers are not empty space; they are curtains of tiny dust grains that swallow nearly all the starlight trying to reach us.

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

If the president can unilaterally decide that he has the authority to murder civilians of other nations (over whom he has no authority) in international waters (where he has no authority), what is to stop him from ordering the murder of any American he says may some day commit a crime?

They’re normalizing murder.

Or…trying to.

Keep calling it out.
What's Trump gaining by blowing up boats in the Caribbean?

It's the same as the deportations: first criminals, then undocumented, next revoke documentation, then naturalization, now anyone "not compatible"... Next?

He's preparing Americans to accept using the military to blow up domestic targets

Welcome back to #TrilobiteTuesday

Here is the positive and negative impressions of Bathyuriscus fimbriatus. This specimen comes from the Middle Cambrian (Drumian) Marjum Formation in House Range, Utah. The Marjum is age equivalent to the Wheeler Shale but with slightly better preservation.

Shocking but not surprising. I know that is trite.
Devastating. Trump admin selling off historic public art to the highest bidder. "It is a tragic irony that murals meant to represent the contract between the government and its citizens would be sold to the highest bidder rather than preserved for posterity." www.alternet.org/trump-destro...

Painted figures haunt an empty building. A boy leaning on a pair of crutches. A father and son wandering a barren railroad track. A nuclear family at a picnic table. These poignant scenes were painted...

Deeply unserious people are making decisions about America's national defense.

Among other things.
The Pentagon reporters who have been kicked out of the building continue to break huge stories every day while the right-wing New Media continue to post selfies of themselves hanging out in the Pentagon.

Can someone help me understand why a diplomatically negotiated “cease fire,” which used to mean both sides have ceased firing, now means one side keeps firing?

Was it when we ended diplomacy & began looking at the globe as a list of Acquisition targets to be divided among the wealthy?

Hgseth keep his disgusting paws off innocent children.
The publisher of the Franklin the Turtle books flamed Hegseth for his “unauthorized” use of the beloved children’s character for war propaganda after Hegseth posted an AI generated picture of the cover of a fake children’s book entitled 'Franklin Targets Narco Terrorists.'
Franklin the Turtle Publisher Slams Hegseth for Using Children’s Character for War Propaganda
Hegseth has faced mounting criticism by range of figures, from the publisher to a UN human rights expert.

You know why Black folks with sense know you all are not ready to fight this administration? Because the Montgomery Bus Boycott lasted 381 days. Too many of you want instantaneous solutions.

I’m sick of hearing how busy he is without knowing a damn thing.
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Geezus he’s a freak.
Trump: "I took my physical. I got all As. Everything. But they said to me, 'would you like to take a cognitive test?' I said, 'Is it hard?' They said, 'yes.' I said, 'Well, I'm a very smart person. Who was the last president to take one?' 'No president has ever agreed to take one' ... I aced it."

it’s really depressing how little the entitled ghouls who rule over us actually know about American history
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."
