I do wonder how much it will cost taxpayers to heat and cool a 2,700,000 (at least) cu ft empty room year after year after year. @nicollewallace.bsky.social

If my taxes don’t pave my roads or fix my bridges or keep my schools open 5 days a week or pay local teachers a living wage or help keep my hospital open or help my neighbor’s kid eat lunch or fund public television or my healthcare…

Why the f’ck should I pay taxes?

Today, we know exactly what needs to be done to recover the climate ecosystem and protect the last remaining pristine landscapes.
It's not a matter of science
It's a matter of political action.

To be an environmentalist today, means getting political.
Because it's worth fighting for

Friends,

May we never forget that while negotiations, statements, addresses and the rest of the (undoubtedly important) diplomacy track are happening, exhausted #Ukrainian men &women in military uniform are holding back evil on the frontlines.

Without them, there would be no diplomacy track at all.

If people we have sent to Washington to represent us are afraid - I believe they probably are - of physical harm, they have three choices. 1) Do the right thing. 2) Do the wrong thing. 3) Resign and go home, which is where they belong if they can’t fulfill their oath.

I don't want my fridge to have a camera or Wi-Fi. I don't want my dishwasher to be smart. I don't want my washing machine to text me.

In fact, I kinda miss knobs and dials and knowing big appliances would last 20 years and could still be repaired.

In 1980, voters turned their backs on a good and decent man and instead elected a glib movie star President and the death of the American dream for ordinary working Americans began.

12 years ago a man walked into Sandy Hook Elementary and killed 20 children and 6 educators.

In 349 days this year, there have been 482 mass shootings, and 1,335 kids killed.

We’ve learned nothing, except how much Republicans value gun lobby money over children’s lives.

And once again, the press and even social media are obsessed with what Joe Biden did or didn’t do, while completely distracted from the antics of Trump. Biden’s pardon of Hunter deserved a paragraph and no more, yet here we are.
