cannot stress this enough. pretend no-one will ever look at your sketchbook. if you luck out & do a good drawing you can scan just that one & post it on the internet
for practise: get a sketchbook & go outside. do life drawing if there's a class available where you live. DON'T obsess over the sketchbook being 'finished' or looking beautiful as an object, getting a cheap one might be the best thing for avoiding that mindset
