ME: they shouldn't be able to say 'your order has shipped' when they've just created a label. That's not shipped.
ISAAC CHOTINER: so, you've never claimed to have a task underway when you've merely opened the file?

So my wife & I watched an iguana scale the neighbor's 150 ft. Norfolk Island Pine late this afternoon, like we've seen them do so many times in the past, and find a perch at the top.

Tonight we knew there was going to be a supermoon and, as it turns out, the iguana may have known that, too.

Great overview of CO2 monitoring. High CO2 is associated with COVID spread, and causes sleepiness, headaches, fatigue, and lower test scores (15% drop at 1000 ppm; 44% drop at 2500 ppm). I’ve found 2000-3000 ppm in restaurants, doctor offices, meeting rooms, churches, and airplanes.
11 Best Carbon Dioxide Monitors I've Found After Testing 30+ Devices
A detailed, hands-on guide to the best CO2 monitors for every budget and use case, based on real testing, sensor accuracy, battery life and essential features.

My daughter wore this tutu for halloween and then she left it on the ground. Bean found it and figured out how to put it on himself. Doesn't he look nice?

This is Magnus. He just beat cancer. His family wrote the big news on their car and bought him balloons to celebrate. Magnus got so much love from strangers the whole way home. His human said, "I hope everyone has a Magnus in their lives, who shows them what determination and strength are." 14/10

Wildlife tracking! I'm reposting things I made this past year. If you look closely at the deer tracks you'll see I added the hint that they're double registering (hind foot is stepping into the same spot as front foot).

Your annual reminder that the most revealing difference between Irish and Scottish Gaelic is definitely in the words for December: Mí na Nollag (Month of Christmas) in Ireland, and An Dubhlachd (the Blackness) in Scotland. So once again may I wish you all a lovely Blackness.

Hey #MetsSky, Ben is one of us, buy his books. Fascinating stuff and way better than filling your offseason with the latest "Nolan McLean for some 40-year-old who last pitched in the KBO" nonsense.
Tossed out this bit of shameless self-promotion on insta last week and figured I’d post here too: my own shit makes great holiday gifts! Twenty-five buckaroos gets you a signed and personalized copy of either of my books; DM for details. Help me afford a haircut and a razor!
