This is why the whole thing is asinine. I have a grandmother with parents off the boat from Ireland, a grandfather whose lineage goes back through the Civil War, a grandmother whose family came from Ireland or Germany in the 1800s, and a grandfather with lineage unknown. Am I Heritage American?
I have no idea if I'm a so-called "Heritage American" in the racist parlance of the rightwing. I have no clue what my genealogy is. But if I made such a claim, these Nazis would probably move to another attack instead of addressing it. And that's the point. It's the whiteness, not the "heritage."
Vivek Ramaswamy thought all he had to do was play their game, and he'd be fully accepted into the club. He's finding out the hard way that the only reason that club existed in the first place was to keep him out.

This really is grotesque: they went through years-long citizenship processes and are now being denied simply because if the country they are from. It’s formalized bigotry.
