100% This! I can't bring myself to watch the Brannagh movies, because Poiort in the books is fundamentally kind, has no ego when it comes to solving crimes (he takes help where he can get it & adjusts his approach based on the person he's talking to), ...
I said before that Rian Johnson does Agatha Christie better than Kenneth Branagh does and one of the things Branagh doesn't get is Poirot's kindness. He's not just a pompous eccentric guy solving puzzles, he often soothes young people in trouble by saying "Papa Poirot" will help them
Don’t read this if you haven’t watched the new Knives Out movie but I wrote about how the series only works because Blanc doesn’t treat the mysteries like a game but is always protecting the most vulnerable individual in the case

Enforcement of Texas’ bathroom bill draws challenges
In its first week, one group’s test of the new restrictions was met with ID checks at women’s restrooms at the Capitol while the Austin City Council moved to circumvent the law's intent.

Yup.

And the "rich people will be rich again, because they understand financial literacy!" is just not true. We've seen it many times.

First, because as I've said before, there is no such thing as financial literacy. It's a lie. There's no one set of info for making money at all levels. Seriously.

If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

Exactly. Edtech is not the solution to lack of resources and criminally low pay for teachers. No matter how much billionaires PR teams claim it is.

They are remaking public education in their own image before our very eyes.
There isn't a single problem "solved" by edtech that couldn't be fixed with smaller classes led by well-paid teachers given real academic freedom

Can confirm as others have noted that this is maximum Minnesotan rage.

NOT Fun Fact: This is nothing new in this country.

Enslaved Black ppl had to carry documents when away from the planter. Freed Black ppl had to carry manumission (freedom) papers at all times.

Reconstruction, Black ppl had to carry proof of employment or residency.

Not new
